Successful first flight of SaM146-powered Sukhoi Superjet 100
On May 19, the SaM146-powered Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft completed with success its first flight at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia, beginning the flight-testing program that will lead to the aircraft certification. During this one hour and five minutes flight, the SaM146 engines powered the Superjet 100 to an altitude of 4,000 feet. The engines, together with the aircraft, performed as expected and demonstrated their excellent behaviour.
