Châtellerault

The Châtellerault plant, in west-central France, is part of Snecma’s MRO division. It has 700 seasoned employees, who service military engines and repair hot-section parts for both commercial and military engines.

Since 1966, Châtellerault has overhauled more than 24,000 military engines. Today, its capabilities span the following engines: Tyne (turboprop for transport and maritime patrol aircraft), Larzac (jet trainers), M88 (Rafale fighter), M53 (Mirage 2000 fighter), and shortly the TP400 turboprop for the A400M military transport.

The plant diversified in 1997, adding repair services for commercial engine parts. Châtellerault now offers a complete range of repair services for the CFM56 and GE90 commercial engines, as well as military engines, drawing on its high-tech processes and expert personnel.

Ceramic Coating Center, a joint venture between Snecma and MTU Aero Engines of Germany, is specialized in ceramic coatings for aircraft parts. Close to the Châtellerault site, it handles parts for the CFM56, the M88-2 which powers the Rafale fighter, and turbines on the TP400 turboprop that will power the A400 military transport, as well as parts made by MTU for the General Electric CF6, LM6000 and GP 7000.
