The M88-2, designed for the Rafale multirole fighter, is a new-generation engine designed to power advanced training and combat aircraft for the 21st century. The first production engine was delivered in 1996. M88-2 engines power all versions of the Rafale deployed by both the French air force and navy. The M88-2 is particularly well suited to low-altitude penetration and high-altitude interception missions.
